This family ruled an emirate in the Orontes Valley in northern Syria between 474-552 . They have taken Shayzar as a capital of their rule. This is a dirham of Abul-Asakir Sultan, one of Banu Munqidh's Amirs who was acknowledging the Seljuq ruler Sulayman in Anatolia as an overloard .
